We have a brand-new opportunity for a strategically minded Creative Director with a wealth of experiencing in positioning and defining global brands to join our growing team in London.

Reporting into Elmwood’s Global Executive Creative Director, you’ll act as a brand guardian for a portfolio of global brands, including one of our pillar consumer clients. You will have a deep understanding of the world of contemporary brand experience and be well-versed in building successful visual identity systems that can evolve with imagination and creativity across a multitude of touchpoints and channels.

This is a permanent role, offered on a full-time basis. However, we are also open to discussing a part-time working arrangement of no less than four days per week.

What you will do:

  • As a member of the London Studio’s Creative Council, you will lead multiple high value projects demonstrating exceptional creativity, intellect, strategic thinking and commercial acumen
  • Build and redefine brand worlds across multiple touchpoints including digital and motion
  • Bring craft, storytelling and strategic intent into everything you do
  • Work at pace; getting up to speed quickly, making decisions in the moment and providing timely and confident direction to the team
  • Develop close working relationships with colleagues in Client Services and Strategy in order to have a commercial understanding and deliver on the strategic needs of the client
  • Actively review the team’s delivery and resource management, putting the right resources in place to achieve the desired creative and commercial outcomes
  • Play a key role in new business pitches as the creative lead, helping to drive momentum and delivery beyond brief
  • Lead a highly effective, energetic, and hungry team who are eager to learn from you, moving seamlessly between the roles of leadership, directing and coaching
  • Have a robust understanding of both the project and the client, understanding the fiscal deliverables of projects and how this ultimately ladders up to the studio’s deliverables
  • Play a part in the creative awards programme for the studio, developing a pipeline of solid entries that are front of mind and honed for success

What you’ll have done:

  • You have previous experience working in a similar Tier 1 strategic, global branding agency
  • You have a solid understanding of contemporary brand world developments across multiple touchpoints
  • You are an established Creative Director with a proven track record managing large, complex global projects
  • You are a strategic thinker that can contribute to the development of the overall brand/design strategy
  • You are confident presenting in front of clients
  • You are commercially astute, ensuring projects are delivered to budget

Who you are:

  • You are a natural leader, comfortable at identifying responsibilities and next steps within a team and ensuring everyone has full clarity on the scope of a project
  • You are multidimensional in nature, knowing how big ideas relate to brand success and able to deliver this across any client brief without losing sight of the client’s original ask and objectives
  • You have excellent creative experience and are able to translate a client brief into real solutions
  • You have managed more junior design team members, building a positive work environment which encourages growth and out-of-the-box thinking
  • You possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate appropriately with internal and client teams
  • You are a proactive self-starter with a curious nature and have the ability to demonstrate creativity about what’s next for the brand and your clients
  • You are organised and able to make quick and smart decisions
  • You are a natural problem solver
