We are looking for a  Senior Front End Developer. The role will be to play a major part in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise level project builds. You will be a dynamic and forward-thinking individual who has a very keen eye for detail having had exposure to working with Experience Design teams collaboratively.

They will provide a level of seniority on client projects across agile delivery teams within a modern technology stack and will be working in a varied and autonomous role primarily developing the Front-End using React and TypeScript as well as HTML and CSS (SCSS).

This role is best for an ambitious mid-level who has peaked in their current role ready for a step up or a seasoned senior who has a thirst for driving value and positive change across a development team.

What you'll be doing

 

  • Provide mentorship to other team members
  • A proven record of JavaScript experience and demonstrative ability
  • Knowledge of existing frameworks with real life experience
  • A Strong understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Extensive coding experience with good Front-End skills (CSS, HTML, accessibility, and performance)
  • Has experience of the modern JAMstack approach including server side rendered techniques
  • Knowledge of node.js along with build tools such as Webpack and Gulp
  • Has a track record of providing solutions focused on business value
  • Experienced in agile and lean delivery methodologies
  • Good communication skills
  • Well versed in creating clear and understandable technical specifications and documentation
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of industry experts and leaders in the field

 

 

What you need

 

Knowledge, Technology & Qualifications:          

  • Extensive professional experience in a related role or technology stack
  • Able to work from written specifications to produce appropriate solutions
  • Experience using issue tracking software such as JIRA
  • Able to work to a deadline and delegate tasks for junior / mid-level developers
  • Experience of working with CMS platforms such as Optimizely, Umbraco or Kontent.ai is desirable
  • Experience of working within team coding standards

 

Skills or Competences

  • Lead by example and encourage others to effectively communicate with not only the development team but the rest of the business too about best practices to promote a common understanding of technologies that are right for twentysix
  • Be a mentor to more junior members of the team
  • Code reviews
  • To identify future developments, methodologies, and new libraries which we may wish to integrate into our stack
  • Help define best practises for integrating and developing within a framework. With key considerations given to performance, linting, and code structure
  • Be an advocate for JavaScript within the agency and be able to present new ideas and methodologies confidentially
  • Contribute to the research and review of the platforms and services the agency offers, providing recommendations and guidance to ensure the agency is offering the most appropriate and best solutions to our clients
  • Assist in the creation of functional and technical specifications ensuring requirements are appropriate, captured and documented sufficiently
  • Assist in project estimation activities and review estimations from team members
  • Provide recommendations on platforms and services on client solutions
  • Integrate testing automation within JavaScript for continued improvement and monitoring
  • Support the agencies security strategies by following all published policies and procedures and reporting incidents as and when they are witnessed around the agency
